School History
St. John's Lutheran School was founded by St. John's Lutheran Church in 1876 and began with an enrollment of 44 students in grades 1-8.  The first teacher of SJS was the Pastor of the church, who taught the students Religion, German, Reading, and Math.  The school served grades 1 thru 8 until 1973 when one of the community's first Preschool and Kindergarten Programs was introduced by SJS.  With the completion of the Activity Center in 1982, SJS expanded its current facility and today serves students in the Preschool through Eighth Grade programs.  The teacher-to-student ratio is low to allow for specialized attention for the student.  The curriculum includes a focus on faith and is developed by an experienced Christian staff; offering a Christ-centered, accredited education.

Mission Statement
St. John's Lutheran School exists to minister to both the families of our congregation and the community, teaching Christian values while assisting the whole child to become spiritually, academically, socially and physically prepared for a God-fearing life.
