- First Violation: Warning note sent home with student for parent signature. Failure to return note will result in segregation from others at lunch.
- Second Violation: Warning note sent home with student for parent signature. Lunch segregation that day.
- Third Violation: Student dismissed from class to call parent(s) to explain they are out of code. Parents must bring clothes from home to change into. If parent is unavailable to bring suitable attire, student will sit out of class.
- Fourth Violation: Student dismissed from class to call parent(s) to explain they are out of code. Parents must bring clothes from home to change into. If parent is unavailable to bring suitable attire, student will sit out of class. Parent, Student, Teacher and Principal conference will be scheduled.
However, any dress which presents a safety, health concern or creates a disturbance within the school will result in the student being removed from the classroom and the parents will be called to bring a change of clothes.
Style Changes: No policy can cover every present or future possibility. Therefore, the principal, or the classroom teacher with the approval of the principal, has the authority to make the decision with respect to personal appearance in keeping with the mission of the school.
CURRENT DRESS CODE POLICY:
Colors: Black, red, navy or light blue, khaki (tan), white
Tops:
Solid-color collared polo, Henley, v-neck, square neck, turtleneck, round neck, shirts, blouses, vests, sweaters, sweatshirts, long or short sleeved (nothing too tight, low-cut or revealing; i.e., no bare midriffs). T-shirts must be outer-wear type. No sayings, writings, slogans, pictures, large graphics with the exception of St. John's logo.
Bottoms:
Pants/slacks ("Docker-style"); shorts/skirts/skorts/capris: solid or plain with above stated colors worn at waist, not the hip (no jeans, spandex, sweat pants, extreme baggy styles, or large flared legs). Skirts/skorts/shorts/jumpers may not be shorter than two (2) inches above knee.
Jumpers:
Solid or plaid with colors listed above.
Shoes:
Socks or leg wear must be worn of solid colors listed above. No platform, high heels or shoes presenting a safety hazard are to be worn. Gym shoes must have non-marking soles.
Belts:
Optional, but if needed, should be black or brown.
Casual Day: T-shirts/sweatshirts of any color with sayings or slogans in good taste and befitting a Christian environment may be worn. Bottoms may be neat jeans, sweats or St. John's plaid lounge pants or 'Field Day' shirts.
