A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
--John Kirchhoff
PURE JOY!
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
A certain bath soap advertises that it is 99 and 44/100 percent pure. The kind of joy our text for today talks about beats even that percentage. It is possible for Christians to experience pure joy while facing trials. God uses our troubles to refine our faith and help us develop perseverance.
Raw gold ore is no thing of beauty compared to the refined product of pure gold. Diamonds need to be cut and polished to sparkle the way they do.
A Christian can see purpose in suffering. The purpose may not be revealed to them right away, but we know God is making something beautiful out of what seems perverse and difficult.
od gave his best by sending His Son Jesus Christ to be a vicarious atonement for our sins. Even in suffering we can rejoice. How? Because we can fully trust that our sins have not only been forgiven but forgotten. God is with us, supporting us each step of the way. A Christian can look forward to life eternal with Him.
I pray that you would enjoy preparing yourself for the victory that Easter brings. Make time to thank God daily for the trials in your life. (Adapted from GET A LIFT by Jeanette Groth)
